Every now & then when I plug my memory card or stick into my computer, it gives me a message saying “memory device not recognized”. Then none of the memory cards/sticks will open. It acts as if there’s none plugged in. So it forces me to either restart or shut down and then turn back on.
Is there a way to get my computer to recognize the cards/sticks without having to shut my computer off and come back? Please explain in detail because I’m not too familiar with computers.

My printer hooks up to my computer through the USB drive. But sometimes it will not connect and says that there is a problem with the Usb port when I run a troubleshoot. It says (Code 43). How can I fix this? The Usb ports work fine with my flash drive.

I have a gigaware 4 port usb 2.0 high speed hub.I used it to plug 4 joysticks in my computer,its been working for a year.all of a sudden today it just stops working.i tried unplugging it and replugging it back in and i keep getting an error message saying “USB Device not Recognized”

Is there anyway I can fix this problem?if i plug a joystick into the usb port it works with no problem. I have windows xp.i tried restarting the computer but it doesn’t work.anybody have any solutions?

I have a macbook pro, with bootcamp, which allows for both windows and mac OS on my computer, my mac side works fine but on the windows side i got an error that said “hard drive error” and decided to restart my computer, it will no longer turn on in windows, it gets stuck at the black screen prompt before it asks to boot into safe mode, what is exactly wrong, is this a virus? how can i fix it if i cant even boot into windows? (i also noticed a little thing that said win 7 repair in the bottom, is this like win 7 virus maybe?)

Upon starting my computer, I get the following error message:

Windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt windows root>\system32\hal.dll
Please re-install a copy of the above file

I’ve had the computer for about 6 years. It’s never displayed this message.

I do not have any discs for it. How can I go about fixing it? Is there a possibility that my files will be lost in the process of re-installing this copy?
