I can’t open some programs on my computer! How do I fix error 0xc0000005?

Posted by Marten Davis in Error Fix
A few days ago, my computer started acting weird. Several times, when I tried to open a program, I get this message: “An application error has occurred and an application error log is being generated. Exception: access violation (0xC0000005), Address.” I don’t know what it means, and I need to know how to fix error 0xc0000005. Can someone here help me figure this out?

    Create a video blog…instantly.

that’s called a segmentation fault. It’s a bug in the code, there really isn’t anything you can do about it.

This problem can come from a few potential problems. It could be that your RAM is glitchy, bad software, or that a device driver in your computer’s registry is in error. The first question I have to ask is if your programs worked to begin with, or if they didn’t work from the first install. If it’s the case, then you’ll just have to download the programs that aren’t working again. If that’s not the case, it’s either a RAM problem or a registry problem.

The registry issue is easy to fix. Go here: and download the program that’s being advertised. After you install it and run it, which will rule out the registry problem. It’s a good program to have anyway, since as long as you’re using Windows (safe assumption), you will eventually get registry issues. That is, unless you run this program once a month.

If that doesn’t fix your problem, the RAM in your computer is bad. Unless you have been trained in how to change RAM chips, you probably should get a technician to do it for you. You could accidentally ruin your new chips or buy the wrong kind if you don’t know what you’re doing.
